Designed by Manuel Ferri Sanchez and opened in 1993, El Plantio Golf Club has 36,000 trees and 3 lakes. Its design is varied and the greens and fairways are in excellent condition. Absence of building construction on this peaceful course. Located 2 kms from Alicante International Airport and 3 Kms from the city centre. As of summer 2006, the third hole has been re-sited and re-constructed and on the 13th hole there is a waterfall that flows into two lakes on the fairway, and the garden
areas have
been developed to enhance the surroundings and add to the enjoyment of playing this course.

There is also a practice course at El Plantio Golf with covered tees on two levels and capacity for 120 places, an approach course, a putting green and an international golf school. Planted with over 45,000 mature trees, over 15,000 bushes and plants and over 500,000 m2 of grassland, this area of semi-desert has been transformed into a beautiful course.
The fairways at El Plantio Golf are generally broad and flat, and the greens ample. Stillthis can at times be a challenging course due to the sometimes undulating terrain, abundance of vegetation and the water hazards provided by the two lakes.
There is also an additional nine hole golf course, making El Plantio Golf the only club in the region to feature two separate courses.
