Frankie arrived on the Costa Blanca in 2005 from West Yorkshire and has become one of the coasts most versatile performers.
Formally trained at one of the UK's music colleges , he spent the early part of his life playing classical music but he soon found he enjoyed playing popular music even more.
A career with Roland took him all over the UK as a demonstrator of the company’s vast range of keyboards, so you can well imagine that his keyboard it top of the range.
Frankie sings songs from 60’s and 70’s predominately including some good old rock and roll, ballads and music from the charts. He is also a member of London Pride, cockney band and occasionally joins All That Jazz playing traditional jazz.
This extremely popular entertainer is well suited for any type of venue or function.

We personally went to see Hot Ice last night (Friday 22nd January 2010) with friends for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We completely agree with the above write-up. Very talented musicians/singers that played a good variety of songs to suit all tastes. The dance floor was full and everybody had a good evening at Hillside Sports Centre on La Marina urbanisation. They entertained from 9.30 pm right through the evening, without a break until 12.30 pm. We
would
definitely go and see Hot Ice next time they are appearing anywhere on the Costa Blanca.

Toni and Brian met in the NE of England in 1986. In 1988 the duo
was formed and they began working the Northern Club circuit as ‘Summer
Rose’ a combination of their surnames. They performed at several
Command Shows which led to Cruising Worldwide plus appearances at major
UK venues as well as summer seasons in Blackpool and the Costa Brava
and winter seasons in Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Dubai. Over the years
they supported many top British entertainers including: Vince Hill,
George Roper, Bernard Manning, The Glitter Band, Orville & Keith
Harris, Roy Walker and Frank Carson in Tenerife.
April
2001 they made the move to the Costa Blanca. On arriving they soon
discovered that “your reputation does not go before you” and have to go
knocking on doors. It didn’t take long before they were working and
building their reputation. So here they are now at The Hillside Social Club. Come and enjoy.

Mick Manion
Mick came to Spain 6 years ago and has worked constantly either as a solo artiste or in bands.
His solo work sees two totally different sides of him. He has created a laid back programme ideally suited for restaurants or lounges playing great classics by the Eagles, James Taylor or Chris Rhea. Not an overpowering performance which suits diners. Then we have Mick Manion, the rocker. Especially designed for venues that have an audience where his superb guitar playing excites and gets the blood rushing. His voice resembles Joe Cocker and has a sensual
appeal.
Mick is one of the few guitarists who actually plays his guitar throughout every song, not just a strummer.
He was the founder guitarist in the Cut Loose Band and was with PDQ for almost two years, both well respected bands locally.

Friday 30th Lenny Mitchell
Question: What have Bonnie Tyler, Sheena Easton, Billy Fury, Mike
Read, Screaming Lord Sutch, John Lee Hooker, Marc Almond, Redhouse,
John Slaughter [Chris Barber], Tony Monopoly, Tom Evans [Badfinger],
Twinkle and many others got in common?
Answer: They all
hired Lenny Mitchell to join their bands & play lead guitar for them
on tours, recording sessions, radio & TV appearances. So can
you!
Lenny Mitchell taught himself to play guitar in London playing his
first gigs in pubs up & down the Old Kent Road. In 1975, as lead
guitarist & harmony singer on a 7 month European tour, he returned
as a seasoned professional still only 16 years old! Thirty years of
extensive sessions & countless gigs led to retirement in rural
France, & building his own studio for recording his own songs. But
in true wandering minstrel fashion, another relocation to Spain, sees
him treading the boards once again, this time as a solo act
Lenny can be seen anywhere along the costas, from Mazaron to Torrevieja.
Greg started playing guitar at 16 and joined his first band at 19.
He spent a few years on the Essex pub scene playing covers. After a
change of band members they became “ The Idle Fools”. Writing their own
music under the guidance of Neil Harrison (Producer of Cliff Richard
and Cockney Rebel). After recording a demo CD for beggars banquet
record label the band went on to play at some great venues like the
rock garden in Covent garden and the cartoon at Croydon and some
festivals around the Essex area.
After 2 years of this they had no luck in being signed up and
decided to go back to playing the pubs and clubs as a covers band again
and changed their name to “The Last Resort”. The band had a very good
couple of years doing this and got the chance to play at the Circus
Tavern Supporting Jimmy Jones.
They went on to do a lot of gigs there playing with people like Mike
Reid, Joe Pasquale, Duncan Norvelle, Billy Pearce and the best one of
all for Greg was when they supported Slade. Sadly the band split when
the drummer went off to do his English degree. Greg moved out to Spain
in March 2004 and has been singing around the Quesada area but is now
spreading his wings and appearing at venues across the whole of the
Costa Blanca.
Mike Hopkins
Mike Hopkins
Mike has been living and working in this area for several
years, performing at various venues mostly in Torrevieja, La Marina and Gran
Alacant.
His repertoire covers a wide range from Elvis Presley, Roy
Orbison and Chuck Berry, through to the Beatles and Rolling Stones and other
favourite sounds of the 60's, 70's and 80's. He also covers more modern
artists, such as Robbie Williams and Ronan Keating. Country Classics, Irish
folk songs, and romantic ballads are a speciality.
All in all, somewhere
in his repertoire Mike has a "Song for Everyone". Tel: 96-679-5088 or
605-526=869
A selection of her repertoire:- I got the music in me, Disco Inferno, Band of gold, Mambo No.5, The way we were, From this moment, Love will keep us together, We are family, Shake your tail feather, Young hearts plus many, many more…………………..
A truly gifted vocalist and sparkling entertainer.
Andrea has, undoubtedly, one of the superlative voices ever heard along the Southern Costa Blanca.
This beautiful young lady originates from Liverpool and as like so many people from that city, possesses a natural wit. Her dynamic performances show the diversity of this songbird with her eclectic range of songs influenced by Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight and musical genre’s including show songs, rock and roll, country, Tamla Motown and soulful ballads. She appeals to all ages and musical tastes and likes nothing better than getting some audience participation.
A great night is promised and fulfilled every night.
Phil Shaper
Phil began playing his guitar and singing as a teenager in the hey day of the 70’s rock bands and great acoustic artistes of those times.
Within a few years he had progressed to gigging as a solo artiste and in eclectic live bands with friends. As time moved on he emulated the Beatles and ended up in Hamburg and Berlin playing in and around the vibrant music scenes there for many years.
Back in London, Phil formed more bands and found himself working in recording studios.
Moving to Spain, Phil worked for several seasons in a duo called the V.I.P’s. When the duo split up, he decided to go solo now free to choose his own repertoire allowing him to decide which songs suit the audience to either let them listen to his great guitar work, vocals and even playing a harmonica.
His repertoire consists of countless hit classics, ballads, rock and roll, blues and standards that no audience would go away happy without hearing.

Chris is a very likeable cheery chap with an infectious sense of humour.
Chris loves to get the audience involved in his show. He plays probably the widest range of music of anyone on the Costa’s from Buddy Holly to Green Day and from the Bay City Rollers to the Kaiser Chiefs but his absolute passion is reggae.
Chris does not use a set list because they are predictable. He is constantly assessing his audience for their enjoyment. His music and show are designed to get audiences on their feet and have a good time. However, he also has music which they can listen to or join in by singing or banging the percussion instruments which he provides.
Chris has his own 1.2k PA system and lights. He uses backing tracks, most of which have been made by him in his studio. However, Chris is also capable of acoustic guitar sets and sing-a-long sessions. He is totally flexible and capable of pleasing any audience.

fanatic. His interest in Music was intensified when Tom’s father

too much of a distraction. Tim learned to play the piano by ear and
later in life gained many qualifications on Music theory and classical
guitar. Performing up and down the UK, Tim received great success in his
band Total Recall (Later re-named Tardis). After moving to Spain, Tim
soon met Bob and Irving and together they formed Shadoogie.

Local Facilities/La Marina/Costa Blanca/Golf Courses
La
Marina comprises of two separate areas with the village, around 600
metres from the sea and the urbanisation where the majority of the
newer properties are built about a mile inland. La Marine village has
retained its Spanish feel, whilst down on the beach there is plenty of
free parking just behind the famous sand dunes and pine forests at La
Marina beach and also at El Pinet. They are both blue flag beaches andhave all the amenities to hand along with a restaurant
by each car parkand a beach bar at the La Marina beach. Alternatively there is a
restaurant just behind the La Marina beach called La Pinada that
specialises in fish and grilled meats, but also serves snacks and
drinks both inside and on its terrace.
There is
an abundant supply of bars and restaurants to suit every taste and
pocket on La Marina Urbanisation, as well as supermarkets to supply all your needs for a stay
here. There are also a number of
excellent Indian and Chinese restaurants with take away facilities,
ideal for a lazy night in with a good movie or curry by moonlight on
a roof top solarium.
There is an abundance of wildlife close
at hand with the Salinas de Santa Pola having one of the largest flocks
of flamingos in Spain and the famous El Hondo nature reserve close by. With
mountains inland and salt lakes to either side the area has its own
microclimate with little rain. The World Health Organisation recognises
it as the healthiest place to live and stay in Europe.
No doubt,
this fact played a part in La Marina recently being listed in the top
10 best emigration destinations by "Homes Overseas" magazine (July 2006
edition).
The Costa Blanca coastline is world famous for its
excellent beaches and golfing facilities. However, there is so much
more to do than just bask in the sunshine. This part of Spain has been
occupied by many different peoples over the centuries, each leaving
their own historical influences on the area. As a result, the region is
home to some stunning cultural landmarks: castles overlooking the sea;
ancient villages; impressive cities, all built and added to by many
conquering races. There is also some stunning countryside, including
the largest palm grove in Europe at nearby Elche. So why not
explore some of these treasures during your stay ? There are many
places you could tick on a "must-see" list. We would include among them
Alicante itself (more than just an airport!), Torrevieja, Elche,
Orihuela and - especially for the kids - Terra-Mitica. Around 2hrs
drive north along the AP-7 is the city of Valencia, the 3rd largest in
Spain, and well worth a visit. However, the real “must-see” of the area
has to be, the tiny village of Guadalest, inland from
Benidorm. Carved out of the mountain, access to the village is through
one very small and narrow entrance, for easy defence in times of
emergency; a fascinating and truly unique example of local Spanish
heritage.
As expected, there is an abundance of water sports
available to try in the Torrevieja area. There are also marinas in
Torrevieja and Alicante. For children there is an Aqua Park found in
nearby Quesada, which also has a number of shops restaurants, bars,
banks and the like to meet all your holiday requirements. There are
many markets held in the local towns and villages, or a drive into
Torreveija takes you to more sophisticated shopping. For a completely
different aspect, the hills which back onto the Costa Blanca offer some
superb walking, especially further north towards Benidorm and Denia.
Due to the excellent Spanish motorway network, Valencia is only a couple of hours away, which is ideal as Formula 1
gears up for its second urban based circuit in Europe (Monaco being the
first), to be held in Valencia in 2008. The new circuit is based around
the City of Arts and Sciences and the Marina area at Port Americas Cup.
Surpassing Monaco and taking the lead as the new European Grand Prix,
the race will be held on the 24th August 2008 around the Mediterranean
port where developments for the circuit are well under way. Costa Blanca Golf There
are several golf courses in the area although closest to the villa is
the La Marquesa Golf Course of Ciudad Quesada, which is around 10
minutes drive away. Its wide fairways with large channels, lakes and
obstacles will be to the taste of most players. It is an extremely
comfortable course to play on and you will need to use all the clubs in
your bag.
A little further on is El Plantio Golf Course, which
is an unspoilt area of Elche. It is both interesting and fun to play
on, being a filled with trees and 3 large lakes with a great variation
of greens. It is planned to be much larger in the near future.
La Marina
is especially well located at the mid point of the golfing mecca
that is the Costa Blanca North & South. Here, you will find easy
access to the local courses, with an even greater choice being
available via the nearby motorway network.
