Keith Meyer and the Vega Baja Big Band musicians.

This band is made of retired professional musicians who decided to settle down in Torrevieja for good. It was their common shared love and passion for music what led them into making up this "Big Band", a band to the liking of British citizens.

The line up may come and go but one thing that hasn't changed is their love for music and entertaining. That 'sound' is provided by sixteen musicians, who although coming from such different countries as England, Scotland, Wales, Spain, Finland, Sweden and Norway, all can read and speak another language, that's completely foreign to many of us (to read at least), that of music.

The Vega Baja Big Band have made their mark around the Costa Blanca due to mainly playing popular swing music from the big band era and their repertoire includes such perennial favourites as Glenn Miller's 'In the Mood', 'Moonlight Serenade', 'American Patrol' and 'String of Pearls' plus the music of Duke Ellington, Stan Kenton, Count Basie, Louis Armstrong and even Gershwin.

The band has recently reformed and is now under the musical direction of alto saxophonist, Gloria Grimshaw. Although many of the band once played professionally, most but not all of the band are of retirement age, and they mostly do it for the fun of it, almost always for charitable causes. They are available for concerts, functions, dinner dances, parties and for charity performances.
